Stopping sexual abuse
The week of finals a young woman in Fir, part of the DeNeve residence hall complex on campus was sexually assaulted by three high school students on a campus tour. They were visiting the dorms when apparently they snuck into her room and then proceeded to rape her. I don’t know how they managed to accomplish this nor to whom it happened. All I know is that this kind of activity must be stopped at UCLA because it is just creepy. Chancellor Carnesale even posted a disclaimer on the front page of the UCLA site. Since I’m a guy I usually don’t have to think about this kinds of things, but I know recently that many of the girls in the dorms were very freaked out by this event. Hopefully when I get back from vacation nothing like this will happen again. I hate that this kind of activity goes on in the first place, since it forces girls to be on guard around guys all the time, and UCLA is around fifty percent male.
