Good-bye, Mister Toledo!

11 Dec 2002

Well the UCLA athletics department finally made a smart move. They got rid of the football head coach, Bob Toledo after he handed the USC/UCLA game over to USC for the fourth straight year. Any coach that loses to a big time rival in four straight years is going to go packing. He knew it after the game.

ESPN ran a new feature on him yesterday and in the article there is a report that the Bruin athletics department is talking to Mike Riley, one of the former trainers at USC. He’s a solid coach and he’s going to give Pete Carroll a run for his money over the next few seasons if we hire him. Why? He’s more likely to run a USC style game which just dominated over us this year because Toledo was much too predictable and conservative in his play calls.

What an interesting fiasco.
