Fox’s Full Throttle is a joke

26 Oct 2006

I tried to install Fox’s Full Throttle media player to watch the season premiere of The OC tonight and I couldn’t get it to work with any of my browsers. First, I tried to install it on my Mac, which didn’t work because the player can only run on Windows. So I booted up my PC to Windows Vista and tried to install on Internet Explorer. Surprisingly, the installer didn’t work with IE7, even when I set the zone to trusted with the option to install unsigned Active X controls. Finally, I tried Firefox, which didn’t work either because the player is only compatible up to Firefox 1.5.

I’m surprised so many people are having trouble… I’ve installed it on at least 5 different computers and all went perfect and played perfect. It probably didn’t work on Vista and IE 7 because well, it’s Vista (RC build) and IE 7. There are lots of sites with content that won’t work in IE7. Player works only up to 1.5 in Firefox? I’ve been running Firefox 2.0 and I haven’t had too much trouble playing online tv shows… CBS’s Innertube gave me trouble in Firefox though.

If you’re running NoScript in Firefox, you pretty much have to allow everything it lists when on the Fox Full Throttle page or it will not work.

Need to turn everything on in your browsers, you most likely have some protocols disabled.

You can’t spell retarded? That makes you … well … Yea, didn’t work on my Firefox (v1.5.0.7), it just made the program freeze over and over again. Doesn’t let me even download it on IE6 … and I’m using Windows XP … Piece of ****!

i’m using windows explorer 7.0 and it downloaded just fine, but now the show says starting in 30 but the install itself worked just fine, now i’m just having issues getting it to play. does it only play at certain times? i thought this was TV on demand?

On this website: http://creative.myspace.com/VOD/oc/index.html

I don’t get it when it says:

“If installation was automatically blocked, there may be a banner at the top of this page informing you of this. If so, click the banner and choose “Install ActiveX control…” and then repeat the installation process. “

I’m 13 so bare with me what do I do if there is no “Install ActiveX control” on the top of the page??? :::cofused:::

The fox shows only allow to show in US. U can’t see the shows with the throttle player in a lot of European countries due to copyright. However, You get to see the commercials – again and again… See… That’s how you make money!

I, too, have had trouble with this site. Also, you want real problems try CBS Innertube. It’s the pits. NBC and ABC videos work fine.

I downloaded it about 2 months ago and it worked fine. But, about a month ago, I wanted to watch prison break.I followed the link and it said that the server did not exist.

i noticed that the player does not work on your secondary monitor. So if you see an all black space where the player should be, you have to move the browser window over to your primary monitor. If you hear audio, but don’t get any video, this may be the problem.
