DeadAIM 3.2.1
I’ve been using Trillian for over six months but I’ve switched back to AOL Instant Messenger thanks to James Dennis, the author of DeadAIM. DeadAIM gets rid of the ads, allows you to set up tabbed windows much like Mozilla, log messages, even use transparency. The new version of DeadAIM gets rid of audio ads and has support for multiple screen names.
Simply, DeadAIM has everything you need to convert AIM into a decent messenger.
If you are going to install the free version of DeadAIM, you have to use AIM 4.8.2790 instead of the current AIM release.
I highly recommend it and I’m now using it full time. The tabbed windows feature is essential and isn’t even found in Trillian. That’s why I made the switch. I previously wrote a review of AIM+ but I assure you, DeadAIM is superior to AIM+ or myAIM. I tried using AIMutation but it sucks compared to DeadAIM.
DeadAIM 4 has been released. Download it for $5 from JDennis.net (PayPal donation required). Also, in case you’re wondering, no, I won’t send you the new installer or a serial. Any requests for bootlegging DeadAIM 4 will be reported to JDennis.net, so don’t e-mail me about it.
Looking for the DeadAIM 3.2.1 installer? I’m not mirroring it here due to bandwidth limitations, but oldversion.com has an archive of DeadAIM installers available for free download. If you don’t want to pay the $5, go there and download the file. Just remember, it only works with AIM 4.8!

dude, dead aim is old news, everybody’s got it for months now. Also, never heard that you had to pay any money at all, only donate if you wish.

Yes, DeadAIM has been around for quite some time but I only recently started using it because Trillian started getting glitchy with MSN and Yahoo! Messenger. J Dennis won’t let you download it from his site now without a donation but the file is floating around on the Internet so I guess you could call it donation-ware still.

ok. i want dead aim again. i downloaded a new version of aim and dead aim wasn’t on there. i had previously downloaded it but it’s not there now. plus i don’t want to have to pay for it, when earlier it was for free.

I just downloaded the new version of AIM too and the DeadAIM is GONE! I have tried to re-download it a million times. Is anyone else having this problem…can anyone help me?????

WOW =O there are a lot of brilliant people browsing this site. Dead AIM is cutting edge tech that is extremely complicated to install and run. So it’s no wonder that many people are having difficulties with this program. Good luck in stealing from J.Dennis, who has worked hard on his program. i agree, you shouldnt recieve a profit, for hacking into another companys software… not to mention another companys software that IS free

I totally agree with that statement. DeadAIM isn’t even a full instant messanging program like Trillian and he’s trying to charge money for it. Bah. Use 3.2.1 instead.

Dude, i had dead aim and it said to update the dead aim and it updated a the regular one and my dead aim is gone. I cant find a free download anywhere.

DeadAIM 3.2.1 is free to download. DeadAIM 4 is not. Maybe J. Dennis will change his mind in the future. However, I’m not sending anybody DeadAIM 4 — I don’t even have a copy of it myself.

ive been trying forever to get dead aim, and i tried to update it too and it was gone. i mean it makes no sense to charge the public for illegal software anyway. its dumb.

i downloaded deadaim 3.2.1, and i dont have tabbed windows! ah.. im not really great with computers but thats one of the reasons why i downloaded it.. because tabbed windows make like.. soo much more sense.. and oh yea, it doesnt have clone or whatever either.. how do i get these things to work! my screen name is: tatertot960 aright cool… thanks for the help!

i think that dead aim should be free too…it jus a public program and i dont know why he charging us for it…LET US HAVE DEAD AIM FOR FREE OR ELSE WE WONT USE IT ANYMORE!!!

It can be done with Middle_Man by Krunch Software. It’s called aliasing.
