Adelphia PowerLink outage

10 Oct 2003

According to Adelphia tech support, PowerLink, their cable modem service, is down throughout California right now. The problem is due to “sun interference.” Tech support claims that the sun is in just the right angle to cause interference with their satellites that run PowerLink. I have one question for tech support. If that is the case, then how can you explain the outage all through the night last night, when the sun isn’t even directly shining onto the satellites?

strangely enough, the sun is still there, even at night :p

Turns out that the tech support person who told my roommate that bit about the sun’s alignment was wrong. Big surprise. Adelphia is having trouble with service in the Westwood area. I bet a line got severed or something of the sort.

Adelphia sucks spooge through a dead monkey’s butt with a straw. They’d tell you fiber was made of egg whites if it kept you paying their outrageously high rates.

Find yourself a decent DSL provider (if there is such a thing) and give the rat-ass bastards at adelphia their due.

Maybe Adelphia has found another way to charge us(the Customer) for something we’re not getting and pocket the money, again. Their constant commercials for services we already have are annoying. They should advertise on the basic channels for more customers. Not on cable where they already have customers. We’re going to switch to DirectTV asap.
