Harry Potter and the phantom delivery

Jason pre-ordered his copy of book 7, which was guaranteed by Amazon to arrive by Saturday 7 PM. He was home all day and the book did not arrive, so he checked the UPS package tracker, which claimed that the carrier attempted to deliver around 3 PM but he was not home. Amazon and UPS appear to have pulled this stunt to avoid having to refund him and other customers the $30 for being unable to deliver the book on time.
