Vastu shastra []

Wired ran a feature in Issue 14.11 on designer Smita Narang, who applies vastu shastra to web pages. She reviewed the Slashdot redesign and slammed it, claiming it is incompatible with a number of vastu principles. I checked out her homepage for the book she is selling, and it is quite ugly. Maybe she needs to take some of her own advice.

Fox’s Full Throttle is a joke

I tried to install Fox’s Full Throttle media player to watch the season premiere of The OC tonight and I couldn’t get it to work with any of my browsers. First, I tried to install it on my Mac, which didn’t work because the player can only run on Windows. So I booted up my PC to Windows Vista and tried to install on Internet Explorer. Surprisingly, the installer didn’t work with IE7, even when I set the zone to trusted with the option to install unsigned Active X controls. Finally, I tried Firefox, which didn’t work either because the player is only compatible up to Firefox 1.5.
