Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional (Mac) speed-up
Control-click on the application icon and select “Get Info.” At the bottom there is an option to select which plug-ins to load. I use the commenting feature in Acrobat to tag my PDFs with notes and I like the auto-updater, so I figured out which plug-ins I need for these two features to load. Everything else has been disabled. This works great if you use Acrobat to read science papers. Here’s my current list of required plug-ins:
- AcroForm.acroplugin
- Comments.acroplugin
- EFS.acroplugin
- EScript.acroplugin
- Reflow.acroplugin
- Search.acroplugin
- SOAP.acroplugin
- Updater.acroplugin
